02 — GETTING STARTED

Let’s get your Pet Tutor® Mini ready to use.

POWER YOUR MINI

1. CONNECT THE POWER
   Plug the USB-C end of the included cable into the port on the side of the Mini (the port is on the blue base). Plug the other end into the power adapter and a wall outlet. The Mini must remain connected to power while in use.
TipYour Mini may be silent when you first power it on. The buzzer is turned off by default so your pet isn’t startled. If you want the buzzer on, see How to Turn On the Buzzer after setup.

2. CHECK THE POWER LIGHT
   Make sure the blue power light is on before continuing.
3. FILL THE CANISTER
   Gently squeeze the canister and pull up on the yellow tab to open the lid. Fill the canister about halfway with your pet’s dry food or treats.

03 — CONNECT TO WI-FI

Connect your Pet Tutor® Mini to your home Wi-Fi network to control it remotely.

CONNECT TO YOUR MINI

1. OPEN WI-FI SETTINGS
   On your phone or tablet, open your Wi-Fi settings.
2. FIND THE PET TUTOR® SETUP NETWORK
   Look for PetTutorSetup_192_168_4_1 (this is the Pet Tutor® setup network) in your list of available Wi-Fi networks. It may take a minute to appear.

Select Pet Tutor network.

WHAT IS THE PET TUTOR® SETUP NETWORK?

The Pet Tutor® setup network (PetTutorSetup_192_168_4_1) is a temporary Wi-Fi network created by your Mini. You’ll connect to it to enter your home Wi-Fi information.

04 — CONNECT TO YOUR WI-FI

Connect your Pet Tutor® Mini to your home Wi-Fi network for remote control.

OPEN THE SETUP PAGE

1. CONNECT TO PET TUTOR® SETUP
   In your phone or tablet’s Wi-Fi settings, select PetTutorSetup_192_168_4_1.
2. OPEN YOUR WEB BROWSER
   Open your preferred web browser.
3. OPEN THE SETUP PAGE
   In the browser’s address bar, enter http://192.168.4.1 or click the link and press Enter or Go. You should see the page pictured below.

05 — ENTER YOUR WI-FI INFORMATION

Enter your home Wi-Fi information to connect your Pet Tutor® Mini to the internet.

ENTER YOUR WI-FI SETTINGS

1. SELECT YOUR WI-FI NETWORK
   Select the Wi-Fi network your Pet Tutor® Mini should connect to. If your router has separate 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks, select the 2.4 GHz network.
2. ENTER YOUR WI-FI PASSWORD
   Enter the password for your selected Wi-Fi network.
3. ENTER YOUR MQTT INFORMATION
   MQTT connects your Pet Tutor® Mini to the Pet Tutor® system so you can control your feeder remotely.
   
   MQTT User: Enter the email address you used at time of purchase.
   MQTT Password: pettutor
   MQTT guestpass: doggy
4. NAME YOUR FEEDER
   You should give your Pet Tutor® Mini a custom name, it can be the name of your dog. Remember what you named it, you’ll need it later. Do not include spaces or special characters.

06 — DOUBLE-CHECK & SUBMIT

Before submitting, carefully check that all of your information is entered correctly.

CHECK YOUR INFORMATION

1. CHECK YOUR WI-FI INFORMATION
   Make sure your Wi-Fi network name and password are entered exactly as they appear. Capitalization matters, so make sure uppercase and lowercase letters are entered correctly.
2. SUBMIT YOUR SETTINGS
   When everything is correct, select Submit. Your Pet Tutor® Mini will save the settings and connect to your home Wi-Fi network.
3. CHECK YOUR MQTT INFORMATION
   MQTT User: Make sure your Pet Tutor® account email is entered correctly.
   MQTT Password: Make sure it is entered as pettutor using lowercase letters.
   When everything looks good, click OK.

07 — USING THE FEEDING PANEL

The Feeding Panel gives you quick access to your Pet Tutor® Mini’s feeding and training features.

FEEDING PANEL OVERVIEW

1. OPEN YOUR WEB BROWSER
   Open your preferred web browser on your phone, tablet, or computer.
2. ENTER YOUR FEEDING PANEL ADDRESS
   In your browser’s address bar, enter:
   https://idogwatch.com/userpage/
   
   Then enter your email address associated with your Pet Tutor® Account. Enter password: pettutor
   You should see a page that looks like the image below.

ADD YOUR DEVICE TO THE PANEL

1. SETTINGS
   Click on settings on the left hand side.
2. ADD YOUR DEVICE
   Type the name you chose for your feeder like in the example below. Then click the green “+”.

3. Confirm
   Click OK in the pop-up window. Go back to the Feed page by clicking Feed on the left hand side. You should see your device listed next to “Feed All”.

Your feeding panel should now have a button with the name of your device next to "Feed All".

08 — OTHER ACCESSORIES

Add accessories to customize how you use your Pet Tutor® Mini.

Small Parts WarningKeep zip ties and the Small Treat Adapter away from children and pets who may chew or swallow small parts.

UNO CARTRIDGE

The UNO Cartridge is an optional accessory that allows the Pet Tutor® Mini to dispense treats from individual spaces in the cartridge.

FILL THE UNO

1. OPEN THE UNO
   Twist the UNO lid counterclockwise to remove it.
2. ADD TREATS
   Fill the spaces with up to 15 treats.
3. CLOSE THE UNO
   Twist the lid clockwise to secure it. Make sure the notches on the lid line up with the spaces on the bottom.

ATTACH THE UNO

4. ALIGN THE UNO
   Place the UNO onto the power base. Make sure the holes on the bottom of the UNO line up with the metal pins on top of the power base.
5. CHECK THE OPENING
   Make sure the opening in the power base lines up with the opening in the UNO cartridge.
6. SECURE THE UNO
   Twist the UNO clockwise onto the power base.

FLOOR MOUNT

The Floor Mount provides a stable way to set your Pet Tutor® Mini on the floor.

1. ALIGN THE MOUNT
   Turn the Mini over and align the two notches on the Floor Mount with the two holes on the bottom of the feeder.
2. TWIST TO LOCK
   Twist the Mini until it locks securely into place.

CRATE MOUNT

The Crate Mount provides a stable way to attach your Pet Tutor® Mini to a crate.

1. ALIGN THE MOUNT
   Turn the Mini over and align the two notches on the Crate Mount with the two holes on the bottom of the feeder.
2. TWIST TO LOCK
   Twist the Mini until it locks securely into place.
3. ATTACH TO THE CRATE
   Use the included zip ties to secure the Crate Mount to the outside of the crate. Position the Mini so the feeder opening faces through the crate and into the crate.
4. SECURE THE ZIP TIES
   Make sure the mount is securely fastened before using the Mini. Trim any excess zip-tie material.

09 — RESET WIFI CONNECTION

If you don’t see the Pet Tutor® setup network, you can use Bluetooth to access your Mini and reset its Wi-Fi credentials.

CONNECT USING BLUETOOTH

1. DOWNLOAD BLE SCANNER
   On your phone or tablet, download the BLE Scanner 4.0 app from the app store.
2. OPEN BLE SCANNER
   Open the BLE Scanner app and allow any Bluetooth permissions it requests.
3. FIND YOUR PET TUTOR MINI
   Look for PTFeeder in the list of available Bluetooth devices.
   
   Then: Tap PTFeeder to connect. If prompted, tap Pair.

WHAT IS BLE?BLE stands for Bluetooth Low Energy. BLE Scanner lets you connect directly to your Pet Tutor® Mini through Bluetooth when the setup Wi-Fi network isn’t available.

ACCESS YOUR MINI

4. OPEN CUSTOM SERVICES
   iPhone: Select the Custom Service ending in F0.
   Android: Select the first Custom Service, or the one that is not marked “dead” and ends in F0.
5. OPEN WRITE,READ
   Tap Write, Read, then tap Write Value.
6. VERIFY YOUR FEEDER CONNECTION
   Tap Text, enter a lowercase s, and tap Write. The Mini should activate, confirming that you are connected to the correct feeder.
7. CLEAR THE WI-FI SETTINGS
   Replace the lowercase s with an uppercase R, then tap Write. This clears the Mini’s saved Wi-Fi settings so you can set it up again.
