PET TUTOR ACCESSIBLE PACKAGE BUYING GUIDE
Find the right mounting and triggering options for your wheelchair and learn what information we need to help you get started.
Not sure what you need? Start here.
The Accessible Wheelchair Package is designed to make it easier to use the Pet Tutor® Mini while using a wheelchair.
Because every wheelchair is different, the best mounting solution depends on your wheelchair, where you want the Mini positioned, and how you want to trigger the feeder.
This guide will walk you through the available options and tell you what information we need from you before we can recommend or create a mounting solution.
WHAT'S AVAILABLE?
Your Accessible Wheelchair Package can include different mounting and triggering options depending on your wheelchair and how you plan to use the Pet Tutor Mini.
Pet Tutor® Mini
The Pet Tutor Mini is the feeder used with the wheelchair package.
Wheelchair Mount
Choose from available mounting options or have a custom mount designed specifically for your wheelchair.
Triggering Options
Different remote, button, or other triggering options may be available depending on your setup.
Not every wheelchair requires the same mounting solution. We'll use the information you provide to determine what options may work for your chair.
CHOOSE YOUR MOUNT
We offer several mounting options for the Pet Tutor Mini. The right option depends on your wheelchair and where you want the Mini positioned.
iBOLT Modular Mounts

Best for:
- Front-wheel-drive wheelchairs
- Other wheelchairs where a suitable attachment point is available
Attaches to:
- The side seat track, using a bracket that fits into the track slots and is secured with nuts and bolts.
- A suitable bar attached to the wheelchair, using a clamp.
Things to consider:
Consider where you want your dog positioned in relation to your wheelchair during training. This will help us determine the best location for your Pet Tutor Mini.
How It Works
The iBOLT mounting system uses separate components that you purchase directly from Amazon. Our team will work with you to determine which parts you need and provide links to the correct items.
We provide the hardware (nuts and bolts) and the custom attachment that connects the iBOLT mounting system to your Pet Tutor Mini.
Custom Wheelchair Mount
If the iBOLT mounts aren't a good fit for your wheelchair, we can create a custom mount specifically for your chair.
Because power wheelchairs vary significantly in their frame design, controls, seat functions, and available mounting locations, we'll need some information from you before we can determine what type of mount will work.
We'll use the photos and measurements you provide to determine what mounting solution may work for your wheelchair.
WHERE CAN THE PET TUTOR MINI BE MOUNTED?
The Mini should be positioned so that it is secure, accessible, and does not interfere with the operation of your wheelchair.
- Securely attached to the wheelchair
- Out of the way of the joystick and other controls
- Clear of wheels and moving parts
- Clear of seat elevation, tilt, and recline functions
- Positioned as close to the chair as practical
- Unlikely to contact doorways or other obstacles
Even when the Mini is mounted close to the wheelchair, you should take care when going through doorways and around obstacles.
Where would you like the Mini mounted?
When contacting us about a custom mount, let us know where you would like the Mini positioned.
- On the side of the wheelchair
- Near the armrest
- Another location
If you're not sure, that's okay. Send us photos of your wheelchair and we'll help determine what mounting locations may be possible.
HOW WILL YOU TRIGGER THE FEEDER?
There are several ways to trigger the Pet Tutor Mini, depending on the equipment you choose.
Advanced Remote
The Advanced Remote features an easy-to-press mechanical button designed for users who need a simple, accessible way to activate their Pet Tutor Mini. Its tactile button provides a physical press that can be easier to operate than small electronic buttons, making it a great option for wheelchair users and individuals with limited hand strength or dexterity.
Eye Tracking
The Tobii eye-tracking option allows you to trigger your Pet Tutor Mini using eye-gaze technology. By tracking your eye movements, a compatible Tobii device can provide an alternative way to activate the feeder without needing to press a physical button. This option may be helpful for individuals with limited mobility who rely on eye-tracking technology to interact with their devices.
Web App via your phone or tablet

The Web App lets you access the Feeding Panel from a compatible phone or tablet to trigger the Pet Tutor Mini. This can be a convenient option if you prefer using a touchscreen instead of a separate remote.
Tell us how you plan to use the Pet Tutor Mini and where you would like to trigger it from. We'll use that information to help determine which options may work for you.
